Meridian and The Salvation Army partnered for another year to distribute warm winter coats and accessories to Detroiters in need. From November 25-26, Meridian volunteers will distribute nearly 1,000 coats, hats and gloves from the Bed & Bread trucks along with Thanksgiving meals prepared by the nonprofit.

This past year, The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit was involved in providing 2,467,616 meals and 402,125 nights of shelter to the community. The Bed & Bread trucks operate 365 days a year, making designated stops throughout Detroit to serve individuals and families in need.

Additionally, Meridian team members donate their time prepping meals for The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread program, as well as volunteering as red kettle bell ringers across the state of Michigan throughout the Red Kettle Christmas Campaign.

The longtime partnership between Meridian and The Salvation Army reflects a shared commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Michigan residents—both physically and emotionally. By providing warm clothing, nutritious meals, and compassionate support, the collaboration helps ensure that Detroiters facing hardship are met with dignity and care during the coldest months of the year.
